SONY AWARD HONOURS WWW.PHOTOMART.CO.UK

LONDON, April 23, 2007 - www.photomart.co.uk has won a SONY Excellent Performance Award in recognition of the company's "outstanding contribution to digital photography sales in FY 06". The award was presented by the Printer Business Division of SONY's B2B Solutions Business Group to www.photomart.co.uk's Managing Director, Lewis Martindale, at a ceremony in Japan last week. "We're delighted!" a beaming Lewis Martindale shouted down the phone from Tokyo. The award recognizes www.photomart.co.uk's outstanding contribution to the successful introduction of the SONY SnapLab mini photo kiosk to the UK, and the way it has fostered market acceptance of the SONY UP-DR150 6"x8" professional dye-sub photo printer as a standard printer for event photographers.

SONY DIGITAL ID PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

A workshop entitled "DIGITAL ID PHOTOGRAPHY - profit in retail" is to be held in the London showrooms of www.photomart.co.uk on Friday, June 15, 2007. The workshop will be sponsored by SONY UK and will feature SONY ID photography systems. "DIGITAL ID PHOTOGRAPHY - profit in retail" will be a business workshop aimed at retailers. It will demonstrate how to use affordable SONY ID photography solutions to offer a very profitable ID photography service to a retailer's customers. www.photomart.co.uk has more than 10 years experience of helping retailers to set up highly profitable digital ID photography services in their premises, and helping them to make the service pay. The workshop, "DIGITAL ID PHOTOGRAPHY", will explain the dynamics that make ID photography a profitable business now, and the roadmap that predicts it will stay profitable into the future. The presenters will show how retailers can earn money from it, and how they can market the service effectively to their customers and passing trade. They'll demonstrate that the low cost-per-print and high-margin sales of digital ID photos mean a retailer's investment in equipment quickly pays for itself. They'll show that you make so much more profit from a modern digital system that it makes sense to switch from any older system now. (Attractive trade-in offers are available to help you do this.) And they'll explain the advantages of staff-operated, hand-held digital ID photo systems over large self-service vending kiosks and photo booths. A number of typical ID photography set ups will be displayed and demonstrated, including all the additional options and equipment you could need. And in hands-on sesssions, the retailers who attend will be trained to operate the systems. During "DIGITAL ID PHOTOGRAPHY" delegates will have the opportunity to chat sociably with other retailers and compare notes. A continental breakfast and buffet lunch will be provided FREE on the day. There is no fee for the workshop. Places may be booked through the www.photomart.co.uk website (just type TICKET0080 into the www.photomart.co.uk Search Box) or you can call 0870 011 5761 and ask for an invitation.

TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

Photographer Ian Brierley will be presenting "Travelling Light", a workshop on speculative, freelance travel photography, at the London showrooms of www.photomart.co.uk on June 14, 2007. Ian Brierley started making money out of photography as soon as he got his first camera at the age of 15. Since then he's travelled wherever he's wanted to, whenever he's wanted to, paying his way through (often speculative) photography. He's photographed Her Majesty the Queen in Ghana, Miss Universe in Trinidad and Tobago and Miss Ghana in Accra, as well as doing an extraordinary range of other interesting and enjoyable work. His photography has illustrated a number of books. At "Travelling Light" he'll be telling photographers how to do travel and tourism photography as working holidays - how to get airlines to sponsor flights, tourist boards and hoteliers to cover accommodation, and how to sell postcard designs and present other propositions, such as aerial photography, to potential buyers. Ian will discuss his philosophy at "Travelling Light" - everything you really need can be taken as carry-on luggage on an airline flight. And you don't need irreplaceably expensive, complicated cameras either - these days Ian shoots on a single SONY Alpha A100 DSLR, because it provides all the features he needs in a lightweight and compact body. The workshop will be presented from 9am till 5pm on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at the London showrooms of www.photomart.co.uk. Tickets, priced at £20 + VAT, may be purchased through the www.photomart.co.uk website. Just type TICKET0090 in the www.photomart.co.uk Search Box. (As a Special Offer, the ticket price will be refundable against purchases made at the workshop.)
