It wont make a difference
i agree; i saw Jessops was doomed 2yrs ago. It was on the horizon but lacked the vision or foresight to see it. I tried to purchase a wide angle lens for my Mamiya RZ from the Belfast shop. They promised to price match any dealer in the UK. I live in Belfast and they wanted to charge me postage of £20 on a £900 lens on the basis it had to be shipped over. Told them to stuff it and bought direct from Dale photographic and they shipped free and cheaper

About time too, although I do feel sorry for the staff concerned. If you enter their store, you trip over so many staff all vyieing to serve you and get, I presume their commission.I also think they have lost the plot with photography!
If they reduced their over-the-top RRP prices they would find they would sell a damm site more. If I want to see the over priced goods, I look on Jessops site and then promptly go to Warehouse Express or similar or dare I say it EBAY and buy the item, usually about half the price Jessops were charging. They seem to live in the past when there was plenty of cash around. If they started their own sales web site selling at a sensible and realistic price they might, just might survive!!!!!!!! on the other hand - I'm not sure, a lot of people have been put off including myself. It also depends on the gilt of high priced over paid managers together with a totally un-necessary posh HQ. Is it really required.
WE SHALL SEE!
You have your head in the clouds.
The staff don't get commission, never have.
The RRP prices are high, but they can't compete with internet retailers who have lower overheads.
The main problem they have is the amount of people who go into the store to try an item before buying it online. It's a waste of the staff time.
Managers are only on a high wage if they've been there for a number of years. A typical salary will only be around £15k for a small store.
Every company needs a HO, I don't know why you think it's unnecessary.
Thye have lost the plot due to the staff not being interested in photography. Therefore, they don't know what the customer is on about.
