Jessops' Chief Executive,
Chris Langley,
resigned last week. The announcement follows hard on the heels of the departure of the company's Finance Director two weeks before. Mr. Langley was stepping down, the company said, to pursue other business interests. He had been in the job for just over twelve months. "
Pixel" magazine did not lament his departure.
Industry trade rag "
Pixel" printed a comment on the resignation attributed to one Barry Young. He described strategy at Jessops as "
foolhardy, verging on insanity" and Mr. Langley as a "
megalomaniac". Jessops, he said, were no friend of the photo trade, and he looked forward to raising a glass to the departure.
